3 Words: Nicolas Cage Impression

It would not be Jimmy’s Daily Planet without an occasional Nicolas Cage impression, especially when it’s courtesy of The Big Bang Theory’s Simon Helberg: a Cage-mimic extraordinaire.

It’s Friday. It’s Nicolas Cage. In a single word: Yes!

Nicolas Cage, in whatever form, is a national treasure (had to). He’s bizarre, original and just strangely fascinating. He’s a character first, actor second. Maybe that’s his secret. Whatever the reason, hopefully the above video will provide an entertaining light to shine through the rain-filled clouds during this overcast Friday.

50 (or 3) Shades of Blue

To get into the right mindset for the impending weekend that’s just hours away, today’s post will consist of a few genuinely amazing pictures, spanning locations all across the globe. The following photographs have a stunning, borderline transcendent clarity.

Let’s see some wonderful shades of blue, shall we?

Applying Creativity to Unforgettable Visions

As the weekend is now only hours away from its inception, there are surely a myriad of great activities to do and interesting places to go and visit this Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. There are new restaurants and menus to try and stores to shop at with unapologetic purpose. However, on March 14, 2014, Jimmy’s Daily Planet encourages you to schedule at least a couple hours for one specific endeavor in between your individual quests: take in an art museum.

Why?

Why not is a better question, but the reason for today’s recommendation stems from a reaction of rejuvenated curiosity from watching a video interview with a famed movie director who has produced multiple films told and shown with imaginatively epic storytelling for all to see on the silver screen.

Only the ambiguous dynamics and complexities of art directly bonds Francis Bacon with the modern Joker.

Let a painting put a smile on your face this weekend!

Engineer on the Piano

Since today is Friday, it feels appropriate to begin the weekend in a fun, relaxing fashion. One way to achieve this universal goal of ours is by listening to uplifting music.

With this in mind, everybody’s favorite engineer who is not a doctor seems to have a real knack for providing this type of joy for the masses. “The Big Bang Theory” episode from last night featured a beautifully written and orchestrated performance by Howard Wolowitz and friends for his quarantined wife Bernadette. It’s moments like this that really make this sitcom such a massive success.

But remember, last night’s song is not the only one Howard has written for his beautiful blonde biologist…

They’re just two green light sabers, glowing in the night…
