Radio? Who Needs the Radio?

When it rains, it pours.

While NPR isn’t a daily struggle of mine–or issue whatsoever–the sentiment between the radio network and Zach Galifianakis certainly rings true. We feel comfortable for a moment. Things seem to be going well, perhaps even on the verge of something great. And then the boom is lowered.

How should we react?

Not wearing (and keeping off) a t-shirt related to that thing is a good start.

I Am…

As a refresher, below is the “Where Am I?” riddle from yesterday’s blog post.

It’s no ordinary day, that’s for sure,
for when you arrive, there’s an airy lure
After a while, it can feel mundane, just another routine,
been there, done that: The same old scene
Our imagination springs to life, where else?
‘Wait, do I still have my belt?’
You’ve dreamt about it, thought about it, realize time is running fast,
oh, here and there would be a blast in this world so vast
My seat is comfortable, everyone around me focused and calm,
all before I sink into reality, yet my mind is stuck on Guam
The final clue is all that awaits, for it’s up to you to cope,
with that board staring back, winking at you with some entertaining hope…

Where am I?

I am…

sitting at a gate waiting to board a flight to a destination all too familiar and regular. All the while I’m finding myself locked on the departures screen, day-dreaming about a new and exotic destination at the Hollywood Burbank Airport, which is most famously regarded as Bob Hope Airport.

And yes, there are flights from Bob Hope Airport to luxurious beach resorts in Guam.

Where Am I?

Let’s play a game! More specifically, how about a riddle?

It’s no ordinary day, that’s for sure,
for when you arrive, there’s an airy lure
After a while, it can feel mundane, just another routine,
been there, done that: The same old scene
Our imagination springs to life, where else?

all before I sink into reality, yet my mind is stuck on Guam
The final clue is all that awaits, for it’s up to you to cope,
with that board staring back, winking at you with some entertaining hope…

Where am I?

The answer will be revealed tomorrow!

Happy Memorial Day

Today we honor those in the U.S. armed forces who have died to protect and defend the United States of America.

God bless all the men and women, and their loved ones who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.
