Happy Monday!

Yesterday was not only the Star Wars holiday “May The 4th Be With You” Day, but it was also the birthday of a movie and fashion icon: the adorably beautiful and wonderfully quirky Audrey Hepburn.

She would have been 85 today.

Audrey Hepburn stole the hearts of countless men and was the admiration of countless women who were equally drawn to her infectiously playful spirit, impeccable style and infinitely illuminating smile and charm. Audrey Hepburn seemingly had it all, which she put on full-display in cinematic classics like Roman Holiday, Funny Face, How to Steal a MillionSabrina, My Fair Lady and Breakfast at Tiffany’s (to name only a few). The latter film, of course, inspired the 1995 song of the same name by the band Deep Blue Something.

Plus, don’t forget her Oscar win for Roman Holiday!

To pay a tribute to her today, below is a short video showcasing some of her most memorable moments from her most memorable role.

The illustrious Audrey Hepburn will live on forever, admired in the most classic and beautiful ways imaginable, as well as in the most fun and lovingly silly ways imaginable.

Just like her.

Happy Monday & Happy Belated Birthday Audrey Hepburn!

In Living Watercolor

The first Saturday of each month in Columbus, Ohio features the pedestrian-friendly event known as Gallery Hop. Occurring in the Short North, art galleries stay open late for art admirers, as well as for people who are simply curious about art (no man in a yellow hat required).

It’s a wonderful experience, having the elastic freedom to not feel wrapped into staying and slowly pacing around a gallery you find boring or uninteresting in order to appear polite to the host. If you like something, stay. If you don’t, then drink the complimentary wine quickly and move on next door.

Who knows, maybe after a few small glasses of wine, you’ll finally “get” that modern art painting?

Nonetheless, this is a wonderful night to spend out with friends or with someone you think of as more than a friend…

Unfortunately, the forecast is calling for rain tomorrow.

Fortunately, this provides an opportunity for those prepared to paint themselves as their own masterpiece.

On second thought, here’s to hoping it does rain…

The Magic of Stars at Midnight

British sensation Coldplay is clearly excited to release their newest collection of musical beats for the world, so much so that they continue to give their anxious fans a song here and there to listen to well before May 19th.

Say what you will about them, but they are a band of, for and with the people.

“Midnight,” “Magic” and the latest single “A Sky Full of Stars” is a trio of lyrical adventures that’s revealing a connected message with a wide-range of sounds, from something barely there in “Midnight” (like a ghost…?) to a relaxed, mesmerizing performance in “Magic” to a “Charlie Brown”-like tempo in the song below. This little-known indie band (sorry, confused today for April 1st) really does appear to be telling a series of small stories that’s guiding us towards a crescendo of something reminiscent off their recent blockbuster album “Mylo Xyloto.”

Every kind of Coldplay fan should be able to listen to a ghost story they like and believe in off this album.

Coldplay’s newest release: “A Sky Full of Stars”

“Ghost Stories” will be released in its entirety on May 19th.

Despite the digital-age we live in, it really would be fitting to camp outside a record store the night before and roast some marshmallows with friends…

How else do you prepare to listen to ghost stories?
