O Captain! My Captain Under – Wait, What?

There are some blog posts that require very little introduction. Ladies and gentlemen, the following video requires only two words:

Captain Underpants.

That any serious movie studio would make such a film with that title and…

how soon can I purchase my tickets?

When a title is enough to make you laugh-out-loud (or “lol” for the younger readers), that’s a great first sign for any comedic story.

Princess of Pop (Culture)?

Her dad was the “King of Pop” and Wendy’s does serve pop (or soda) at their restaurants…

Paris Jackson is the daughter of the late Michael Jackson. He wrote some songs, danced a little and wore a red leather jacket. Anyways, Paris has understandably stayed away from the spotlight for most of her life. Most of all immediately following the death of her father. But now she seems to be stepping out into the public arena through acting, modeling…

and maybe singing?

While Paris Jackson recently admitted to Jimmy Fallon that she writes songs in private, there doesn’t seem to be any burning desire for her to step onto the biggest musical stage. However, if a certain fast food chain was savvy and paying close attention, they would get Ms. Jackson’s agent on the phone ASAP and collaborate with her on a potential commercial and viral marketing campaign.

Just human nature to put two and two together.

This Broderick Never Takes a Day Off

Local injury attorney commercials are, how do I put this…

A spectacular art form.

We’ve all seen them. Most of the time, we can’t believe that the individuals in the commercials are, well, actual attorneys. Something usually seems off about these so-called “attorneys.” And yet, the truth is they are real lawyers. Even more, they must be fairly talented at practicing law to afford the number of prime commercial spots during local news broadcasts.

Furthermore, these local attorneys typically have unique character traits that would cause any viewer to shake his or her head in disbelief. This could be a strange haircut or a bizarre personality. A common response might be, “There’s no way he’s an attorney! I don’t believe it.” Fortunately, Saturday Night Live had some fun with everyone’s favorite local commercials.

I’m legally obligated to state that you will laugh quite a bit during this sketch.

This fake commercial needs to air during real local news broadcasts.

No joke.

Life’s Big, Witty Pieces

We all love Tom Hanks.

Who doesn’t?

And we all love Colin Hanks (you see where I’m going with this) because he is, in many ways that are entirely conceivable, a younger version of Tom Hanks. Need proof? Then may I highly recommend the CBS sitcom Life in Pieces. Colin’s role on this CBS sitcom as Greg Short answers the question of whether Tom Hanks could make it on TV in 2017. By the way, that answer is a resounding YES. And if you like sitcoms with clever writing, funny actors and actresses, lots of heart and laugh-out-loud moments, then you need to watch Life in Pieces on Thursday nights.

Since today is Friday and the weekend is just about here, it seems fitting to have some fun and enjoy an interview in which the aforementioned funnyman Colin Hanks answers questions about his father Michael Keaton Tom Hanks.

The comedic apple did not fall far from the tree.

It’s probably safe to presume that the show runner for Life in Pieces likely cast Colin right away.
