Netflix’s House Just Got Fuller
It might finally be time to bite the bullet and subscribe to Netflix.
With an increasing list of television hits in its digital portfolio (House of Cards, Arrested Development, Orange is the New Black), this streaming media service continues to provide consumers with acclaimed, award-winning content. And to prove its cultural awareness and high-quality prowess, it was announced ~12 hours ago on Jimmy Kimmel Live! by John Stamos (“Uncle Jesse”) that Netflix has signed on with a 13-episode order of a spinoff to the 1980s-1990s sitcom smash hit, Full House.
The spinoff will be deftly titled, Fuller House.
Without diving into a thesis on the incomparable nature, influence and surreal number of amazingly timeless sitcoms from the mid-1980s-mid-2000s, this move by the original cast and creators of Full House is a wonderful decision and revival to a series not forgotten by fans for one second since its series finale on May 23, 1995.
There’s only one thing that can be said now: Have Mercy!
Sorry, I’ll cut-it-out. I know, I know, how rude!
I was just reading from my Clipboard of Fun.
Bottom line: Will I watch, Fuller House?
You got it, dude!
Thank Goodness It’s Thursday
“Wait, Friday night was once a big night for TV?”
The following video clip is a primary example of what Throwback Thursday is all about in the year 2014:
When a golden night of television existed all on one network. Well, good things have a tendency to come back around. Girl Meets World currently airs on The Disney Channel on Friday nights. By season 2 or 3, could it return to ABC on Friday night with a couple family sitcom friends? A reboot of Full House is rumored to be gaining steam with many of the original cast members, with the charge led by John Stamos.
Let’s be clear: when a show has a character named Topanga, anything is possible…
Three Men and a Man Child
There are some nights when we just can’t fall asleep. The cause could be a myriad of reasons, like stress for the upcoming day, nightmares from a movie or anxiety about taking over the most iconic late night show in television history.
All that needs to be said for the video below is that we’re never too old for our teddy bear and a nice, soothing nostalgic sing-a-long from the guys and days of “predictability, the milk man, the paperboy, evening T.V.”
A “Full House” is always the best.
Always!
Everywhere you look (everywhere)
There’s a heart (there’s a heart)
A hand to hold on to.
Everywhere you look (everywhere)
There’s a face of somebody who needs you
Now this is worthy of the top-shelf on Throwback Thursday!
This Summer Will Be Golden
“Our family is thrilled to have the opportunity to reestablish these iconic brands with new creative marketing ideas and renewed sales efforts and investment”
With these words from Dean Metropoulos, who is the founder of the private equity firm Metropoulos & Co, the dreams of children and adults everywhere are preparing to return to their regular orbits with the summer return of…
Two private equity firms, Metropoulos & Co. and Apollo Global Management, together successfully offered a bid in the amount of $410 million, according to Chris Isidore’s online article, “Twinkies due on shelves by summer as $410 million bid OK’d” on CNN Money today.
As for the renaissance of everyone’s favorite golden-colored, creme filled snack, it appears to be in safe and fully capable hands.
“Metropoulos has experience turning around financially troubled food brands. The firm’s food holdings include Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, and in the past have included Chef Boyardee canned pasta, Bumble Bee seafood, PAM cooking spray and Gulden’s Mustard, all of which it eventually sold to ConAgra Foods Inc.”
Late last year, when Hostess ceased production, the once-full shelves were left barren with sadness and disbelief. The delicious treats were gone. Forever. Faith in the world we all knew took a terrible stumble, leaving millions to ponder what the new snack companies had in store for us? Could they even compare to the Twinkie or the entire Hostess family for that matter?
Luckily, that new “world order” will not transpire. There is substantial uncertainty in our country, and around the globe, but at least we can still count on one of the best plastic wrapped snacks of all-time to return to its golden glory.
Greek yogurt. Greek street food. John Stamos. I suppose it’s not all that surprising a Greek business star would be the one at the top of the current food curve to rescue the beloved Twinkie.
As Twinkie the Kid might say, “Go ahead, make me again!”
