Using a Crane (or 2) to Grab a Song from the Must See Past
It’s blog posts like this one that solidify the excitement and necessity for “Throwback Thursday.”
Frasier is one of the best sitcoms in television history. The writing, characters, acting, settings, cleverness and overall tone of the show were absolutely top drawer. This series began with very real emotions and situations that were relatable to a broad audience, whilst adding just the right amount of suspended belief to make its stories greatly entertaining with notes of appreciated realism throughout the show’s illustrious 11 seasons.
Please enjoy one of these very scenes that captures the love (and laugh-out-loud comedic timing) of the Crane men. Martin Crane (the father) discovers a newfound connection with his sons who aptly remind him of their likeness, well, just watch.
It’s a must see clip.

Happy New Year’s Eve (Eve)
New Year’s Eve is upon us.
2016 was a roller coaster year, filled with ups and downs that, at times, changed on a daily basis. Coupled with the occasional (and necessary!) look back at nostalgia, whether it be last month, last year, 5, 10, 20 or more years ago, life is a future-looking endeavor. Tomorrow is a new day. It just so happens that tomorrow’s tomorrow will ring in a brand new year:
2017.
Along with remembering and building on your successes in 2016, also take the opportunity of a new year to recall your shortcomings and to not let people walk all over you if you happen to have a personable demeanor. Instead, make the necessary pivot without losing your core character and run your life like a, what’s the word?
What do I mean? Jim Halpert, help me out.

Finding the Elf Within Yourself
Ever feel like you don’t belong?
Do you strive to put a smile on people’s faces?
Are you from the North Pole?
If you answered yes to at least two of the questions above (doesn’t matter which), then some congratulations are in order: You are either an Elf and/or you consider yourself a buddy to family, friends and strangers alike.
And if you think about it, this is the season to be a great stranger. Yes, I’m aware of how that reads, but it’s true. Making sure to hold a door open, helping someone pick up a bag they’ve dropped or being cheerful (along with a nice tip) to the workers with those grueling holiday shifts. A little Christmas cheer never hurt, just as long as you cater it to understanding the hardships some may be going through. And just as every child deserves at least one present under the Christmas tree, every person deserves at least one genuine smile-worthy moment this time of year.

Buddy the Elf probably won’t fit on your shelf, but the movie Elf definitely can (and should).
‘Tis the Season to Pledge Allegiance
Well, traditions technically begin with something happening for the first time…
Before we know it, families will gather and relatives will arrive for the holiday season. With Christmas just days away, it’s easy to settle into old habits. For many, that’s a reassuring feeling. Myself included. These moments bring a wonderful continuity in our lives. These traditions are special, nestled deep in our hearts.
Continuing from yesterday’s Christmas-themed movie favorite Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, I bring you yet another classic clip from a film that will surely be playing in homes across the country.
