Winnie the Pooh is…True?
Sort of.

(Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin, Disney)
Warning: Naming your stuffed animals can be life-changing.
Creativity is not something that can be memorized from a textbook. In its purest and most imapctful sense, creativity is a reaction or a feeling someone has to something or someone that few (if anyone else) sees. It happens when it happens. And creativity can be a truly wonderul thing when it rises from the normal everyday.
While we’ve all watched and enjoyed the adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh, including his best human friend Christopher Robin, it’s a safe bet that most of us don’t know the story-behind-the-story. Well, later this year, moviegoers will discover the former that inspired the latter.
To think it all started when British author A.A. Milne was casually introduced to some wonderfully named stuffed animals…
There is just something magical about England of yesteryear (or the days of yore, if you’re like Rachel Green) with its picturesque architecture and dreamlike parks. Maybe that special feeling we have is the result of so many creative people before who have subtly transformed these pleasant thoughts from England into our illustrious reality over the course of many generations? Cheers, either way. And it looks like Goodbye Christopher Robin aims to showcase one of those delightfully impressionable chapters in that evolving lineage of happy thoughts from that place across the pond.
A.A. Milne, his son and his cast of characters are not rock stars like the Beatles. However, their tale of heartwarming imagination continues to “top the charts” (of sorts) with children and parents alike, spanning multiple generations…like the Beatles.
Also like the Beatles, Winnie the Pooh wants to hold your hand.
Happy Monday
Spring is known as the season of rebirth. Monday, therefore, could be defined as the day of the week for rebirth.
In other words, Mondays seem like a perfect occurrence to hit an internal reset button from the now past week and weekend. To put a finer tip on it, each Monday provides us the unique opportunity to be something we weren’t during the prior days that we wish we were…that we wish we could be.
However, before we make any drastic changes to our lives, it’s important to rediscover our origin story, of sorts. What is our true character? Purpose? Drive? This way, we may better understand the place(s) we really want to go, literally and metaphorically.
Here’s an origin story for the ages that should inspire grand adventures as large as a house perfectly located on the banks of West Egg.
The source of J. Gatsby’s money aside (we all know that side of the story), the relentless ambition of one of the most famous literary characters is undeniable.
And admirable.
Perhaps, admirable extraordinary…?
(Bonus points for those who remember that 2013 cinematic reference)
Have a Better Week Than Last Week.
Seals & Their Cold Splashes
Time to hit the showers cold shower.
Jimmy’s Daily Planet strives to be on the cutting-edge of a variety of topics and issues. For today’s edition, this involves an interesting tidbit that will likely not receive a standing ovation. However, keep in mind this advice is coming from a Navy SEAL. And it was an elite branch of Navy SEALs who took down Osama Bin Laden, so there may be something truly real (and incredibly badass) about this showering curveball.
If somebody would like to experiment with this frigid Act III in their showering routine, please do so and report back in the comments section below.
I’ll take your word (and Navy SEAL Clint Emerson’s word) on it.
What Does the Foxx Say?
It has been way, way too long since Jamie Foxx has been in the news.
Luckily, Mr. Foxx not only makes an appearance in today’s blog post, but also proves why he is, as Jay Leno puts it, entertainment’s “Renaissance Man.” And, in the process, consoles an entire city draped in sadness with a brand new lyrical bedtime story.
Cleveland, OH tourism: If you’re watching and reading this, get Jamie Foxx’s agents on the phone ASAP.
Plus, call LeBron James as well.
The excitement when speaking about popular destinations in and around Cleveland, OH by LeBron James is the best pitch for a city I’ve seen in a long, long time.
That rocked.
