The Future (and Past?) Will Be Wyld
It’s officially happening!
27 years removed from Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves–Bill and Ted, respectively–are returning to the iconic characters for the third chapter in their time-traveling adventure journey awesomeness. Hopefully, nostalgic B-movie magic from the ’80s and ’90s is on the way with the original title characters, along with the original sequel writers and a talented director.
If done correctly, this new sequel could be something special. Sadly, George Carlin is not here to reprise his critical and funny portrayal as Rufus. Major bummer. How will they handle this? While perhaps an overstatement, the way in which the filmmaking team deals with curious George’s death from a decade ago could be a signal as to whether this new story will work on a level beyond the obvious. The other key factor to watch for is if Bill & Ted 3 is an extension of the original two films or if it’s a caricature of the original two films.
This kind of stuff will determine if Bill & Ted 3 will be excellent or bogus.

Whether you are dealing with tight deadlines in the office or getting kids ready for school, we can all use some motivation to get us going. Instead of attempting to cater to each person’s individual circumstance, it seems like a better approach to spotlight someone who appeals to a larger audience. And in the case of today’s post, the featured speaker received quite the revival this past year with starring and supporting roles via two highly-acclaimed movies (Dunkirk and Darkest Hour) and a highly-acclaimed show on Netflix (The Crown).

Phil Can Be a Shadowy Punxster
And the winner is…
Ugh.
You saw and heard it. Famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil has declared six more weeks of winter. Although, consider the fact that Phil’s forecast has not been 100% historically. Therefore, we’ll find out if he’s punking us in the coming month and change.
If so, that’s what Phil would call an ice burn.
Magic’s Illusory Leap
The intersection between movies, TV, and reality occurs more than we may imagine.
There are several forward-thinking companies around the world that are developing products and technology today that will shape our lives in the future. And of these firms, there’s one that may not just change the way we see the world, but more so what we see in our own personal space.
Interesting technology, to say the least.
Now, this Wired report is from last spring. The reason for writing about it now is because the 2018 CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is happening this week, which is one of the brightest spotlights of the year for evolving technology. Here’s a Magic Leap update from a few weeks ago.
The verdict for Magic Leap is certainly cloudy at the moment. Currently, it’s safe to proclaim that looks can be deceiving for tech’s next big (potential) magic leap. It also looks like the mysterious startup team in Florida was inspired by one of pop-culture’s gold mines: TV’s ongoing science-fiction craze.
It’s science-fiction until it’s not, which is cause for excitement and concern.
