I Came, I Saw, I Froze

5.

That’s the expected low temperature tomorrow morning in Columbus, Ohio. 5. A single digit on the barometer.

Translation: Stay inside.

If you do venture outside, however, remember to cover your eyes. They can freeze.

And a trip to Macy’s can wait because that Santa tie will still be there a week before Christmas 2016.

7 Words (& More) You Can Say on TV

Our culture in 3 1/2 minutes.

Remember when George Carlin was the caliber of comedian you could see watching The Tonight Show? George was funny, brilliant and, yes, curious about the world around him. That routine above is not only impressive for its performance value, but it’s a perfect encapsulation of the type of clever writer Carlin was throughout his career.

Every word was written and said with purpose. That precision combined with his insight and eye-popping mannerisms are what elevated him to the biggest, brightest stage of stand-up comedy. He grabbed your attention, kept it and closed every show with that same energy and an exclamation point.

His stuff was awesome.

Happy Throwback Thursday!

P.S. RIP George Carlin.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Karaoke

Fortunately for everybody, James Corden will not be performing on the NFL’s biggest stage (the literal stage).

This Sunday, February 7th, Coldplay will rock Super Bowl 50’s Halftime Show with hits (old and new), with help from a few of their closest friends. Their past shows have proven to be electric with a bright, pulsating energy. I speak from experience on this. This Super Bowl will likely be taken to another level.

Thanks to The Late Late Show host James Corden, Chris Martin was given the chance to remind the world that he’s a first-class performer and the best buddy riding shotgun for a classic American road trip…featuring two Brits.

Music: On.

We all wish that we sounded like Chris, but, sadly, the reality is much closer to James.

P.S. Did you hear the undercover shout-out to, “The Replacements,” an American football movie classic?

A Friendly Joke

When life imitates art…or a favorite sitcom character.

Some days just require a joke. And today, Throwback Thursday, seems like the perfect setting for such entertainment.

Now, time for a savvy joke for the ages from a few years back.

Matthew Perry’s joke is classic Chandler Bing.

Happy Throwback Thursday!
