Happy Monday!
Like the instrumental below, no words are needed for this defining 1993 John Williams composition that is pure genius.
We don’t know what the new theme song and soundtrack for Jurassic World will sound like with its new composer, Michael Giacchino. Hearing it for the first time this Friday will be exciting. And as is commonplace in following John Williams, nothing but the musical summit of Everest will need to be reached. It will be a thrill to finally see/hear if this forthcoming summer blockbuster can come close with its soundtrack inevitably compared to the masterpiece above.

Right in the Middle of It All
Basketball season is in full swing, both at the collegiate and professional levels. Watching the athletic dunks, improbable shots and skill (not ability, but skill!) of the best players is great fun. Still, no player quite compares to my favorite basketball player of all-time: Penny Hardaway. Penny made crazy shots that were highlights every night for the Orlando Magic. Plus, he dished some stellar passes to this short and shy guy named Shaq. Hardaway also had the best little brother in the wise-cracking, Chris Rock-voiced Lil’ Penny.
And yet, his legacy is being defined in a middle school gym in Tennessee.
Penny Hardaway’s Legacy: Instead of offering our “two cents,” let’s volunteer one cent.
Saved by the Flashback
Jimmy Fallon did it again last night.
For those of us who grew-up in and still love ’90s nostalgia (the culture, clothes/style, movies, sitcoms, music, Saturday morning cartoons and shows, rafting trips, etc.), Fallon is the ideal entertainer for us. To put it as plainly as possible: he gets it. Not only did he clearly enjoy shows like Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Saved by the Bell, but, most importantly, he understands and appreciates the sensitivities/life lessons, humor and true greatness of these incomparable sitcoms from the days of high-top sneakers, faded blue and white jeans, cheesy (yet cool) conversations with friends and your high school principal and the power of the impromptu life “timeout.”
Bayside High, it feels like just yesterday…
“I’m so excited!”
Saved by the Bell Forever!
Happy Monday!
As we prepare to ring in the new year later this week, it’s important to have the right attitude. Entering 2015 with the proper mindset is paramount to achieving all those resolutions we’re planning (well, at least 1 or 2 of them anyways). Among other characteristics, confidence and bravery are quintessential to success. Perhaps no other family demonstrates these traits quite like the Crane boys:
How will you spell “winning” in 2015?
Hopefully not, “Charlie Sheen.”
Enjoy the Final Monday of 2014!
