This is a Little Random…

Is it random to celebrate a day of randomness when it’s on the calendar?

Either way, any day filled with randomness is a great day.

February 17, 2016 is, in fact, “Random Acts of Kindness Day.” The greatest part about this occasion is that the simplest of gestures can make all the difference for someone. We all have those days and it’s incredible what a spontaneous spark of goodness can do for us. That flicker is just what we need, like happily looking at a birthday candle being lit.

How about we do something randomly nice every day of the year?

It would actually be pretty random since nobody would see it coming.

Is The Force Strong in This One?

Talk about the ultimate tease.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens was a record-breaking Goliath at the box office and an instant fan favorite. The long-awaited epic return to an epic saga hit all the major notes in a new, yet nostalgic fashion. Appropriately, the next/final two episodes in the new trilogy are in full blaster production mode.

Episode VIII started filming yesterday. That would be Day 1. The very first step towards another awesome Star Wars movie slated for release in December…of next year…in 2017.

Why the emphasis on the fact that Episode VIII won’t arrive in theaters until the end of 2017? Because the marketing strategy for studios engaging with fans for a highly-anticipated blockbuster just flew into another galaxy. Rian Johnson (the director) and Co. have sped past the teaser promotion barrier of one year out from a film’s premiere to a time-frame of more than 20 months from the release date.

SPOILER ALERT: The following groundbreaking teaser announcement includes a major spoiler/scene from The Force Awakens.

Leave it to Star Wars to promote a movie to its fans after the first day of filming.

This is the teaser 6+ million people have been looking for…

Happy Presidents Day!

Why do we celebrate Presidents Day?

I’m so glad you asked.

Yesterday is history and tomorrow is (I won’t finish that). Anyways, we can never forget where we come from and how we got here. In the infinite age of information, it’s easy to ignore certain facts and realities. However, until we grasp the rich and consequential, yet still relatively youthful nature of the United States, our future as Americans will involve more mysteries and uncertainties than we may care to accept.

The presidency is a uniquely powerful, influential institution. Only 44 individuals have served in this position, which underscores the need for the best of us to lead this country.

If only George Washington or Abraham Lincoln could be on the ballot in 2016. The American people would happily take a Washington or Lincoln understudy.

Can Daniel Day-Lewis act like he was born in the USA?

I know, stupid question.

Of course he can!

I Came, I Saw, I Froze

5.

That’s the expected low temperature tomorrow morning in Columbus, Ohio. 5. A single digit on the barometer.

Translation: Stay inside.

If you do venture outside, however, remember to cover your eyes. They can freeze.

And a trip to Macy’s can wait because that Santa tie will still be there a week before Christmas 2016.
