Why wasn’t this clip from a Mark Hamill interview attached to the first teaser trailer for The Last Jedi?
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s clear as a glass of water that Star Wars is kind of a big deal. Even if you aren’t a fan, the cultural impact of Star Wars has and will cross your path somehow, someway. If you follow Jimmy’s Daily Planet (thank you if you do!), then you saw the very first teaser trailer for The Last Jedi last Friday just minutes after 12:00 p.m. ET right here on this blog immediately after it debuted and was officially posted online. The teaser trailer appropriately followed a Last Jedi panel discussion at the 40 Years of Star Wars celebration.
Writer and director Rian Johnson and superstar producer Kathleen Kennedy knew how to treat their audience.
The Last Jedi teaser trailer is awesome. And in the Star Wars mania surrounding this trailer, Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Daisy Ridley (Rey) recently did a joint interview with ABC News. The teaser trailer revealed limited details while the aforementioned interview, well, just watch below.
That’s what you call the second teaser trailer for The Last Jedi.
It’s a Wonderful…Friendship
Christmas and It’s a Wonderful Life go together like America and apple pie. Now add in a friendly bond that spans 7-decades and your understanding of the holiday spirit may very well be redefined in a great way.
It’s a Wonderful Life has its ideal combination of rough moments and endearing moments, which is a magical formula in Hollywood and in real life. Maybe this is why the black and white film is so beloved seventy years after its theatrical release in the era of Blu-ray? This film, a favorite among many for countless different reasons, proves that new isn’t always better and that we must remember that the past is not always so distant.
That sentiment is certainly the case with the children from It’s a Wonderful Life. A recent sit-down on the Today Show illustrates and confirms one of our hopes with any movie: That the cast really did get along and that there was/is a special bond between the actors and actresses.

With Kevin, Your Home is Never Alone
With Christmas less than a week away, that means we need get ourselves into the right head space for what this holiday represents, along with making certain that we’re respecting each others’ personal space.
What do I mean?
Christmas-themed movies are one of the great traditions of my family and likely yours. Celebrating Christmas at Church on Christmas Eve (at home or abroad) is always a wonderfully powerful experience, followed by Christmas morning brought to you by wrapping-paper-gone-wild. Growing up, we all have our favorite movies we watch at Christmas time. Rest assured, many of these will be featured in the coming days.
Speaking of which, let’s kick things off with a beloved favorite of mine (and hopefully of yours as well). Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is a classic and the following is a classic scene to bring back all those fantastic nostalgic memories of Kevin McCallister pulling unforgettable pranks with help from his trusty “Talkboy.”
That scene always slaps me silly with laugh-out-loud laughter.
Get Me to Cleveland!
The Chicago Cubs stunned the Cleveland Indians 9-3 in Game 6 of the World Series last night in Cleveland. It’s clear the Indians need to throw everything they have at the Cubbies in the decisive Game 7.
On that note…

As has been written/requested/begged on Jimmy’s Daily Planet (This Wild Thing is…Major League and There’s Always the 7th Inning Relief), the Cleveland Indians have the opportunity to win the all-important (second to the World Series, I suppose…) pop culture battle with the Chicago Cubs (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Rookie of the Year, Back to the Future Part II’s near prescient prediction back in 1989) by calling on the franchise’s best relief pitcher:
Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn.
Before getting all hopes up of the awesomeness that could transpire tonight (a step-by-step recreation of that famous “Wild Thing” outfield entrance against the New York Yankees in the original Major League, uniform, hat, glasses, haircut, song, strut and all), let’s just all stay tuned at the very beginning of Game 7 of the 2016 World Series at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
If the Cleveland Indians and Charlie Sheen actually pull this off, it would take “winning” to an entirely new, awesome level.
