Tom Wants James to Know the Truth

“I can do that.”

These are the words we first say to ourselves when we are 100% confident that a certain action that’s wildly intense looks easy. And by the time we realize these devastating few words have been heard out loud, it’s too late…

While promoting ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’–an action movie filled with daring stunts throughout via motorcycles, helicopters, and an airplane halo jump–Tom Cruise took the playful bait of talk show host James Corden after he called out Mr. Cruise’s “action star credentials.”

Mr. Corden reciprocated in kind by accepting the thrill-ride challenge of Mr. Cruise (seriously) that will make for a breathtaking segment (literally) during a future show. In a word:

Incredible.

Just like Tom Cruise’s stunts in the ‘Mission: Impossible’ cinematic series, the halo jump is about to get crazy real beyond belief for James Corden.

New Flight Mission: Possible

Yes, yes and YES.

A to-be-named ‘Top Gun’ sequel is officially happening. And, more importantly, this sequel is currently filming with stars of the original classic movie in Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer.

Just let that sink in for a moment because, for many of us, that 1986 action thrill-ride set in motion our perspective of Naval fighter pilots.

It’s just awesome that a sequel has been set in motion…

into the ‘danger zone.’

Happy Monday!

Harry Potter’s extended world just got a little more fantastic.

The new trailer for ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ that premiered this Saturday at Comic-Con showcases increased magical wonder and imagination from its cinematic predecessor. Surpassing the original film in a series is difficult to pull off successfully for a variety of reasons.

It has been done. Yes. However, it’s tricky.

Fitting that ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ features wizards who deal with spells, potions and…you know.

Have a Better Week Than Last Week.

Vulgarity Is Killing the Radio Stars

Interesting words to consider from one of pop rock’s best singers and musicians.

Music, like any entertainment medium, can be tricky to navigate as to what pushes close to the boundary and what crosses “that line.” More often than not, it’s the un-clever way in which something is presented that desperately lacks subtlety, decency, and creativity that inspires the powerful connection via a myriad of sounds and lyrics.

I think that’s the underlying point Killers frontman, Brandon Flowers is alluding to by his line in the interview above, “we need to class it up a little bit.”

Essentially, what he’s saying is comparable to a stand-up comedian just spouting off about someone or something without a set-up and punchline that, when done effectively, makes the point in a new, entertainingly memorable fashion.

And he’s right…

on the line of what constitutes original, thoroughly entertaining music.
