Happy Halloween!

Michael Myers, the killers from the Scream movies, pumpkins, evil leprechauns, ghosts and goblins, curses and witchcraft, candy galore, mysterious fog and wild costumes round out what Halloween is mostly all about.

Mostly.

It’s a great time of year when our imaginations can run wild and we can be as scary or humorously creative as we want. Ultimately, it’s a celebration and a time of year when we love to be scared; getting our heart racing is a plus. Visiting costume stores/depots that are set-up for about a couple months is always entertaining because we discover what the top costumes will be in a particular year in popular culture. This year there will be current favorites like Game of Thrones and Guardians of the Galaxy, classics like a cat and a ghost, plus nostalgic returns like the dynamically dumb duo of Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas. But let’s be 100% sure not what neglect a cinematic treasure from the past that can be viewed and celebrated by people of all ages (especially Millennials). We can watch the scariest films we want, but somewhere in our playlist must be a movie that stars three witches, a talking cat and some salt.

When I say, “Hocus,” you say…

Happy Halloween!

Happy Monday!

The stars are beginning to align…

Interstellar will start premiering in theaters nationwide starting the middle of next week, providing movie fans with the most epic cinematic journey of the year. Directed and co-written by Christopher Nolan, this scientific theory-based space adventure is much more than just that. It will connect with moviegoers through family, love, mystery and survival, if the trailers are any indication. The premiere was held on the black carpet yesterday in Hollywood and this spectacular event is happy proof that months of filming and years of development is finally here for the world to see.

Not only are the trailers visually stunning, but the music has been equally mesmerizing. To kick of the workweek, below is the music from Interstellar’s fourth trailer:

The Cool Rise of a Friday

Serving as an extension of sorts of yesterday’s post about “being cool,” today’s blog post will add a countdown. Why? Because once the warm sun beams hit our faces on a Friday morning, an internal countdown instinctively starts for when the weekend can ultimately begin for us…usually to the second.

Phoenix (rising from the ashes for the weekend) + “Trying to be Cool” + a continuous countdown:

Hear You Me, 23 is My Best Theory

Pure sweetness.

Jimmy Eat World is a band that hails from Mesa, Arizona that’s been strumming their guitars, banging their drums and singing their songs for ~ 21 years now. For any group in any musical genre, that’s a noteworthy feat. Simply incredible. But what’s more impressive is how their fans continue to fill venues, passionately sing along to their songs and bounce around for a genuinely fun concert experience to this day.

Last night, the band returned to Columbus, Ohio and played at the famed Newport Music Hall for 1 1/2 hours of rock. It even included the very rarely seen double encore. There were literally two encores! For any night, it was a blast. However, consider that they were able to put on a rock show inside that felt like a Friday or Saturday night while outside was a normal Monday evening.

A very cool dynamic was pulled off.

While footage from yesterday’s show and/or their last Columbus, Ohio appearance back in 2010 is bouncy and the sound somewhat muffled, below is a video that captures the energy and musical quality within the walls of the Newport Music Hall on October 13, 2014:

Jimmy Still Rocks The World.

P.S. Where’s Waldo?
