Tonight, there’s definitely something in the air…
There are certain songs, from various decades, that genuinely transport us to a place that elevates the moment beyond the constraints of reality. A sublime trance, if you will. Phil Collins, the masterful singer/songwriter, gave the Tonight Show’s viewers such an experience.
Oh Lord.
“In the Air Tonight” is one of those songs you listen to on a long car ride alone at night, driving whilst peeking up at the stars, reflecting. With the weather officially in fall mode (chilly with rain), this song and performance feels rather therapeutic and, yes, perfect.
Just like Questlove’s triumphant drumming moment.

Golden Girls?
Yes, you read that right. Rose, Dorothy, Blanche and Sophia are entering the super club of superheroes by way of action figure alley.

“The response to our ‘Golden Girls’ products has been wild.” Funko marketing director Mark Robben told ABC News. “We almost weren’t prepared for the excitement. We created these as a passion project initially, and were blown away when it started trending on social media.”
The four-figure set costs $25 or ships to the UK for £21.50, which converts to about AU$35. It’s only available from participating Target stores and New York Comic Con.

When you consider the Millennial outpouring of a nostalgic persuasion for Betty White (which was a leading driver for her TV resurgence in recent years), molding Ms. White and her fellow “Golden Girls” into pop-culture icons as action figures was inevitable. Perhaps not foreseeable, but inevitable all the same. A sitcom about elderly women living in the same house in Miami, FL has generated enough of a cult following and place in the hearts of those young and old that these four women continue to positively influence our lives 24 years after the show’s series finale on May 9, 1992.
That’s a golden legacy.
Most of all, this toy set is yet another reminder that great friendships impact us forever.
For that, we’re thankful to Rose, Dorothy, Blanche and Sophia.

Do you like big fish?
Let me rephrase that: Do you like the movie Big Fish? If so, Colin Hanks, Catherine O’Hara and J.K. Simmons have come together to star in a television/web series that plays on a similar spirit as the aforementioned classic called, “What Lives Inside.”
The show airs with new 13-minute episodes on Hulu for free (a quick search on a web browser) every Wednesday, with its series premiere ready for all to enjoy.

Dating’s Blind Detour

Why isn’t she here yet? What do I say next? Do I kiss her goodnight on the first date?
These timeless conundrums are being thrown out the window and into airplanes and rickshaws with backpacks and (just guessing) a Ford hybrid vehicle of some sort nearby for the craziest blind-date imaginable. The Amazing Race returns tonight for a blind date-themed competition. Half the teams consist of people who are currently dating and half of them volunteered to compete on the Amazing Race not only with someone they’ve never met before, but with someone who they will also be looking to impress under the most stressful situations whilst navigating around the world.
Seems completely crazy, doesn’t it?
Actually, it’s not as insane as one might initially think. First, The Amazing Race is a ridiculously cool show. An incredible time will be had regardless. And second, one of the most awkward aspects of going on a blind-date is figuring out the best way to introduce yourself and determining what to talk about. How about, “Hi! I’m Jimmy. Ready to go on the best adventure of your life?”
On second thought, who needs Phil and a passport for that?
The Amazing Race starts tonight at 9:30 p.m. on CBS for a 90-minute special.
