Ladies and gentlemen, I present the trailer for the new uplifting film ‘Shining.’
Have a Better Week Than Last Week.
P.S. What day is it?
There is something coming on this 4th of July. And for the wisenheimer out there, no, I don’t mean just the 4th of July. Call it an event. Call it a happening.
But whatever you do, call it what it is:
Strange. Strange things. And then even stranger things as found in the brand new trailer for ‘Stranger Things 3.’
The setting for’Stranger Things 3′ looks like polished 1980s nostalgia gold before seven kinds of chaos is unleashed. Season one felt akin to a Spielberg film with childlike wonder and otherworldly forces whereas season two had a dark, gritty Stephen King touch. Makes sense, considering the elevator pitch for ‘Stranger Things’ was Steven Spielberg meets Stephen King.
And now season three, which will drop on Netflix this 4th of July, seems to be made in the vein of any high school movie or TV show with storylines that take place in the quintessential mall of the ’80s. Now add a terrifying creature like ‘Alien’ and we’re all set.
4th of July TV watching guide:
‘Independence Day’ during the day and a ‘Stranger Things 3’ binge at night with Eggo waffles on the menu.
For my nieces and nephews:
The brand new official trailer for ‘Toy Story 4’ has arrived.
I’m thinking there might be an Uncle Jimmy day at the movie theater this summer. I better start preparing now for the
‘Toy Story 4’ starring Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Annie Potts, Joan Cusack, Keanu Reeves, Jordan Peele, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Estelle Harris, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Blake Clark, Bonnie Hunt, Laurie Metcalf, Kristen Schaal, Jeff Garlin, Jodi Benson, Michael Keaton and Timothy Dalton arrives in a theater near you on June 21.
Topher Grace, who is best known for his role as Eric Forman in the hit Fox sitcom ‘That ’70s Show,’ is, like his aforementioned character, a major ‘Star Wars’ fan. It’s one of those cases when the real interests and passions of an actor are written into a character. And we all remember how his TV dad Red used to make fun of him for playing with his “dolls,” which provoked Eric’s reaction, “They’re ACTION FIGURES!” Lightsabers and all the rest fell under Red’s wrath.
Well, it turns out Topher Grace has synced with his past TV persona (sans a Luke Skywalker
doll action figure) for a ‘Star Wars’ project that’s been 42 years in the making. And the final edit that was recently released online is quite entertaining and impressive.
Ladies and gentlemen, here’s the text of Topher Grace’s tweet that he used to introduce his ultimate ‘Star Wars’ movie trailer titled ‘Star Wars: Always.’
10 movies. 2 nerds. 1 weekend (when our wives were out of town). Enjoy…
As a former video editor, it must be stated how painstakingly impressive ‘Star Wars: Always’ is in its final version. Just awesome! Again, specific scenes from 10 different films from the ‘Star Wars’ cinematic universe were chosen for a pop culture hit. One thing that is clear from this crazy good edit, which is that Topher Grace needs to be made a Stormtrooper in one of the live-action ‘Star Wars’ films in the future.
P.S. Topher Grace forgot to insert one pivotal scene into ‘Star Wars: Always.’
