Happy Monday!
“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.”
–Leo Tolstoy
Inspiration comes from many places, often from locations invisible to the naked eye. That’s the reality of the surreal, wonderland-like adventure of a wandering mind. The only thing we can do is exercise that muscle when it flexes.
On that randomly symphonic note, below is “We Shall Fight” from the soundtrack of ‘Darkest Hour,’ which is a film about Winston Churchill’s defining moment of world history-altering leadership during World War II.
Have patience that the crescendo is coming during the time in the film when Mr. Churchill’s warrior-like speech is needed to raise up an entire nation during its–pardon me for being so obvious–darkest hour.
It’s only Monday, but we too must persevere through our varying struggles set for this week.
(If only with the same kind of liquid diet as Winston Churchill).
Have a Better Week Than Last Week.
Happy Monday!
If you don’t dream big, then your dreams will be medium or regular-sized.
Does that make sense? Well, it makes as much sense as…
The lesson?
Start dreaming big today, preferably like the Bruce Willis character in ‘Die Hard’ or Arnold Schwarzenegger in his classic action films, or like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson trying to imitate Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger with obvious remakes of old favorites.
AND also start and/or continue watching the new season of the funny cop sitcom ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ on Thursday, January 10 at–you guessed it–9 p.m. as it heroicly jumps to its new home on NBC with star Andy Samberg by its side.
Have a Better Week Than Last Week.
Happy Monday!
Movies need to be more realistic. Movies need to feel like it’s really happening.
Well, following the success of ‘The Jungle Book’ live-action (of sorts) remake, Disney is at it again with ‘The Lion King.’
Will this new ‘Lion King’ succeed at the box office? Can it possibly live up to the wonder of the original animated classic from 1994? Will this new adaptation add anything new or simply be a retelling or the aforementioned 1994 animation?
For now–until July 19, 2019, theatrical release date–let’s just live each day before then by two words:
Hakuna Matata.
No worries, just anticipation.
Have a Better Week Than Last Week.
P.S. James Earl Jones returned for this new ‘Lion King.’ Yes, that James Earl Jones.
Happy Monday!
Ladies and gentlemen, the following scene from ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’…
is Monday in less than a minute.
Wildly optimistic expectations colliding with stone-cold reality–a winning formula for Lary David’s ornery TV character of the same name–is what defines Mondays.
It just is.
We’re all coming off the high (metaphorical) of the exciting weekend. The day after Sunday and before Tuesday is not fun yet it has to happen.
It just does.
And Larry David the character is here to provide us with laughs as Larry David the writer continues to showcase what life would be like if it were Monday every day of the week.
He (they?) just always will.
Have a Better Week Than Last Week.
