Happy Monday!
Back in 1963, director Alfred Hitchcock sent chills down the spines of moviegoers everywhere with his terrifying portrayal of the seemingly peaceful, elegant winged-creatures in the sky. The Birds (a critically-acclaimed movie) made us fearful of what glides above us, ready to attack with friends aplenty.
Today, in the newly-minted 2016, the British quartet Coldplay is aiming to counter Hitchcock’s nightmarish reputation of birds.
Ladies and gentlemen, fly into the new year with the help of birds.
Have an Uplifting Week!
Coldplay on a Warm Day
Something special is lighting up the sky.
Spending Christmas eve with family is a joyous occasion, including the surprisingly warm temperatures. Typically, snow flurries would be covering the ground and car windshields by this time of the year. But alas, Mother Nature has granted us an extra dose of sun instead in the Buckeye state.
From evening Church and being reminded of the wonder of our Lord to being together for an after-service dinner and enjoying the comedy stylings of the Griswolds, this is one of those days that shines above. And even though there are classic Christmas songs from yesteryear that we should be listening to on repeat this holiday season, it’s nice to enter a new CD into the disc-changing rotation every once in a while (man, I’m old).
Coldplay’s 2010 holiday stunner, “Christmas Lights” deserves a listen to on everybody’s night shift.
And the video is classic Coldplay and, therefore, quite wonderful.
Taking a moment to gaze at colorfully inspiring lights during the Christmas season really is heavenly.
Harmonizing a Kaleidoscopic Future
Coldplay’s future is…
“A Head Full of Dreams” was released today for the world to hear and experience. Unlike their previous album “Ghost Stories” (with the exception of one song), Chris Martin and Co. have returned with mostly upbeat, dancing tempos, imaginatively playful lyrics and a positive feeling of being happy no matter what life throws at us.
As Coldplay would say, it’s about finding and hanging onto our everglow.
Now, Chris Martin said that this album could be the band’s last musical journey during an interview several months ago.
Like the highly-lauded and extensive Harry Potter series, is this the end for Coldplay?
Well, the last song on the record is called, “Up&Up.”
