Christopher Reeve Was Super; Man Who Inspired Hope

When your blog is called Jimmy’s Daily Planet, a random tribute to Christopher Reeve is perfectly normal.

And necessary on a Tuesday.

Here’s to hoping we can return to some degree of inspiring simplicity.

Happy Monday!

The influence of the ’80s aren’t going anywhere on TV, movies or music–both in nostalgic throwbacks and as a pop-culture golden age–and that’s a good thing.

Actually, that’s an awesome thing.

Exhibit June  4, 1984:

At least we can rest easy and listen to The Midnight after midnight while eating food without fear, unlike some furry friends who first showed up on June 8, 1984…

Comedy lovers everywhere: We finally have the answer to that question…

I have no words.

That ’80s Music…From 2018

On this Throwback Thursday, it’s time to venture back to the ’80s.

All I have to say is ‘Ready Player One,’ ‘The Goldbergs,’ ‘Stranger Things’ and Weezer’s “Africa” rendition and you understand how beloved that decade remains in 2018 with all of us who lived during it. And now new generations are getting a nostalgia-high for a decade that solidified Steven Spielberg, was driven by a robust economy and discovered that Guns N’ Roses had an appetite for entertaining destruction on and off stage.

Add The Midnight to the aforementioned mix above who–in 2018– is proving why the ’80s was one of exploration that discovered a lot about ourselves individually and collectively.

This song should’ve been in ‘Ready Player One.’ Maybe it’ll be in the forthcoming book (and film) ‘Ready Player Two’?

That would be totally bitchin’ (the second throwback this Thursday).
