When Harry and Lloyd Met Tom

Monday, November 3, 2014: The (“T-T-hey…the”) Regency Theater in Los Angeles was the destination for the premiere of a sequel that’s been in demand by its loyal fan base for the past 20 years. Yes, Dumb and Dumber To, with its original directors (The Farrelly brothers) and stars (Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels) really happened.

“I’m gonna hang by the bar, put out the vibe.”

For the first time since that benefit in Aspen with all those French people and salmon of Capistrano, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels donned a tuxedo in the discreet colors of orange and blue. Except, elite fashion designer Tom Ford (who has made suits for Daniel Craig’s 007) helped make that iconic fashion statement suitable (yes, that just happened) for 2014 with black pants and checker-patterned jackets with the trademark bow tie. The picture below is a modern throwback to the most famous custom-made suits in pop culture history.

But this wouldn’t be a true throwback on this Thursday without traveling back in time 20 years…

Put me down for two tickets, in case I want a second viewing.

Thank Goodness It’s Thursday

“Wait, Friday night was once a big night for TV?”

The following video clip is a primary example of what Throwback Thursday is all about in the year 2014:

When a golden night of television existed all on one network. Well, good things have a tendency to come back around. Girl Meets World currently airs on The Disney Channel on Friday nights. By season 2 or 3, could it return to ABC on Friday night with a couple family sitcom friends? A reboot of Full House is rumored to be gaining steam with many of the original cast members, with the charge led by John Stamos.

Let’s be clear: when a show has a character named Topanga, anything is possible…

Happy Throwback Thursday!

When we throw things back on Thursdays, we occasionally need to ensure that we do so to things that will make us laugh now as much as we did, well, back then. Of all the blooper reels I’ve seen, this remains one of the classics. Not only is the 1997 film Liar Liar fantastic, but it’s outtakes with one of the funniest people alive in Jim Carrey is the exit to a highway of pure hilarity and unrestricted creativity.

Ladies and gentlemen, let’s go back to the ’90s for a couple minutes:

Funny Funny!

Happy Throwback Thursday

As the weekend is fast approaching and since there was a totally awesome 2-hour Goldbergs marathon last night on ABC, it’s only right that Beverly Goldberg herself provide us all with a little guidance in the dancing department:

FYI – Beverly’s slow dance is known as, “The Snuggle Monster.”
