Wait for It…

#Nature.

The awesomeness of nature can be truly awe-inspiring. And people patiently watching for whales from the safety of a boat, when nothing particularly exciting was happening, were rewarded with something unforgettable.

Patience is a virtue good view.

A 3-3 Win for the 2018 FIFA World Cup

Today’s match between rivals Spain and Portugal fulfilled all the drama–before and during the game–short of a game-winning goal. And let’s be honest…this is one of those games where I should just point you to the highlight of the night.

Click PLAY, then click “Watch this video on YouTube” (FIFA stuff) and then please return to Jimmy’s Daily Planet.

Instant Reaction:

Spain will view the 3-3 tie as a loss as they were pre-game favorites. They had the chance to win the game, collect three-points and sit atop Group B in pole position.

Portugal will likely view the 3-3 tie as a win as they were pre-game underdogs. Led by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat trick that served as the scoring bookends for the day (4th and 88th minute), the Portugeuse now have an opportunity to sincerely challenge Spain to win Group B.

Slightly More Reaction:

It’s a little difficult to tell if Spain and Portugal will continue at this pace, both in style and proficiency, throughout the tournament. Was this performance by both nations more of an isolated rivalry game that, like Ohio State and That Team Up North, just ignites an unexplainable fire that fuels players to accomplish the spectacular? Time will certainly tell, particularly outside of Group B against comparable top competition.

Either way, the hype is real–and was heart-poundingly real in Spain vs. Portugal–for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

From Russia with love for the beautiful game.

An Eternal Rey of Light

YouTube is nothing but goofy videos, like cats that open doors, dogs that rap and a gerbil with a lightsaber.

That presumption is only partly correct (But c’mon…a gerbil with a lightsaber!).

Despite the preconveived notions about YouTube’s content, the videos that can be discovered while exploring the popular website are actually infinitely diverse. There are ridiculously silly and absurd videos, yes, but there are also amazing feats captured for millions (even billions) to see for an eye-opening surprise.

John Williams is a movie soundtrack legend. Mr. Williams has written and composed some of the most iconic scores in movie and cultural history.

  • Jaws (1975)
  • Star Wars (Beginning in 1977-Present)
  • Superman (1978)
  • Indiana Jones (Beginning in 1981-Present)
  • E.T. (1982)
  • Home Alone (1990)
  • Hook (1991)
  • Jurassic Park (1993)

In addition, what’s equally noteworthy of the past legacy of John Williams is the future legacy of John Williams. Returning to compose The Force Awakens (Star Wars: Episode VII) in 2015, one of the best instrumentals on the soundtrack is “Rey’s Theme.” And it sounds like YouTube user Chelsea Comeau is quite the good student in the John Williams school of brilliant character themes, with just a piano.

Now compare to the genius John Williams version, complete with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at his disposal. And, of course, let’s not forget that John Williams came up with this beautiful instrumental from his imagination.

Amazing.

It’s pretty great what you can find on YouTube, isn’t it?

Or what you can be inspired by on YouTube…

P.S. You’re welcome.

Yes, You Can(‘t)

What does it mean to be a creator in the year 2017?

One of the metrics for defining a particular generation is by identifying its creators and innovators. The individuals who dare to see the world in a vastly different light than his or her peers are the ones who set the stage for how people to see the world in the future. The reason why my childhood was different than my parents is due to people who innovated something that was currently in existence or to people who created something brand new out of thin air, so to speak.

For my childhood, the name Steven Spielberg instantly comes to mind.

For the children of 2017 and beyond, who will alter the way they see world?

The same culture-shifting giants, like Steven Spielberg, will certainly lead the pack like the past. That’s a great thing. However, with technology constantly evolving and occupying more parts of our daily lives, our culture is witnessing a sea change, of sorts. The bar for influencing large populations has transformed in dramatic fashion.

And each new social influencer, according to YouTube sensation Casey Neistat, continues to change the way we see the world through one phrase:

“Do what you can’t.”

(FYIA couple four-letter words are spoken in this fast-moving montage video)

So, do what you can to do what you can’t…

In other words, record a lightsaber battle while skydiving and post that epic awesomeness on YouTube.
