The Bicentennial!
This is the 200th Post on Jimmy’s Daily Planet!
It’s a bit surreal to be writing my 200th blog post. To be more precise, it was never on my horizon to even think this far into the future when I first started Jimmy’s Daily Planet. I knew what I wanted this website to be in the beginning and it’s been gradually evolving with each new post. I for one am truly excited to see where it continues to go from here!
Just reflecting solely on the number 200 reminds me of what a big number it is. The United States of America is 237 years old, there are more than 200 restaurants in New York City…plus 4,000 other ones, an electric motorcycle has broken the 200 mph barrier, there are at least 200 different types of wine in most grocery stores these days and I’ve probably quoted my favorite television shows and movies more than 200 times.
But maybe it’s just a matter of perspective. Whose perspective? How about a robot with a perfectly pertinent name for today’s celebratory occasion with the always amazing Sam Neill as his somewhat reluctant comedic sidekick:
(Oh, and this post is also two hundred words long)
Here’s to 200 More!
Happy Monday!
It would be nice if life was drawn on pieces of paper in a notebook, where we controlled the pencil and its eraser.
Here’s to finding that pencil this Monday.
Happy Monday and Draw Yourself a Great Week!
The Perfect Game to Play with Friends
“The Million Second Quiz” is the latest game show attempt by NBC. It’s interesting, yes, but a little confusing at first. However, it’s not whether or not a game show is necessarily perplexing that’s an issue, but it’s the standing power and intoxicating allure to the fans, players and host alike once the game is understood that is the paramount determinant to its ultimate success.
Just in case NBC needs one more game show to put on the air (or back on the air) that would be fun for the entire family, I suggest they step back into their vault of past hits. Start with the folder of sitcoms labeled “F” and then search “B” for a specific game show reference…
“This is the best game ever!!”
Happy Monday!
As a new work week begins, it can be therapeutic to speak one’s mind freely in a way that will not result in punishment. This type of setting will vary for everybody. Just think of it as an exercise of releasing the frustration of losing that precious freedom from the weekend that is now only visible in the rear view mirror.
Also, timing is everything!
Have a Dam(n) Good Week!
