Happy Tuesday!
Yesterday’s blog was dedicated to a big picture review of the box office record-shattering behemoth Jurassic World. So, today’s post will be a special Tuesday-edition of “Happy Monday!” I’m actually seeing Jurassic World again tonight, but this time in 3D. Reaction will follow tomorrow. However, the focus from that Central American theme park yesterday will respectfully shift south for a genuine thrill on the soccer pitch.
Neymar, that’s just money.
Have a Record-Breaking Week!
That Jurassic Labyrinth
On this day back in 1993, the world changed forever.
Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park was a tyrannosaurus-sized blockbuster that was the “Star Wars” for an entire generation that redefined cinema and changed everything about what movies could be and should be. It was the first movie to use CGI and, coupled with Stan Winston’s brilliant use of animatronics, created dinosaur effects that made the audience truly believe there was a modern day park with prehistoric creatures from 65 million years ago. This movie has everything: heart-pulsing action, dynamic characters and relationships, original storytelling (props to Michael Crichton), legendary soundtrack, epic surprises and iconic phrases and scenes.
Speaking of the latter, the following video clip is still arguably the most terrifyingly amazing scene from this cinematic masterpiece.
Just one more day until we get to see what Jurassic World will serve up…
Virtual Reality’s Crescendo to Reality
Hollywood composer Michael Giacchino was lost, but then found in the coolest way imaginable.
As the countdown towards the theatrical premiere of Jurassic World continues this week (only two more days!), today’s blog post features the composer tasked with the surreal job of following the brilliant John Williams and his iconic Jurassic Park score. Giacchino composed the soundtrack to Jurassic World (as well as Tomorrowland) and the random assignment that ultimately led him to the red carpet last night is the exact right amount of crazy awesomeness.
His story is almost as cool as a velociraptor…almost.
Must Watch Below
3 days until Jurassic World projects in movie theaters around the country and the world. Good things come in threes. In fact, there are some 3-worded phrases that are simply unforgettable.
Here’s one of them.
