Happy Monday!
Nelly was right: It’s getting hot in here.
Tom Hanks and Ron Howard are back in front and behind the camera with the latest European thrill ride for everyone’s favorite symbology professor. Robert Langdon, as portrayed for the third time by Mr. Hanks in the cinematic adaptation of Dan Brown’s Inferno, finds himself at the center of yet another plot by a brilliantly villainous mind that threatens the world and its global population. Inspired by Dante, the fiery problem (and answer) takes the viewer through an esoteric labyrinth.
Lucky for Mr. Langdon, a sharp blazer and a Harvard faculty ID appear to be assets in this global mission with no less than the fate of the human race at stake.
Looks like one hell of a good movie.
Have an Adventurous Week!
A Trial Listen
Steven Spielberg’s new film, Bridge of Spies, starring Tom Hanks begins its theatrical run this week.
The legendary director, who has taken us on rides through the heroics and tragedy of war to a park with genetically-engineered dinosaurs to the open sea with a supreme predator to treasure-mapped adventures, has taken his camera and storytelling expertise to the high-stakes game of negotiation.
An ordinary lawyer protecting a captured enemy of war with the American legal system as his defense during the Cold War may not sound terribly exciting, but the story (based in truth) just may lead us all to experience the movie that critics are raving about.
While the trailer looks exciting, the music takes it to another level…the Spielberg-level.
Movie soundtracks can make or break a film. In special cases, the perfect score can define a film, characters, story and/or concept.
A powerful soundtrack can bridge the gap between action and inaction…
or between staying home and going out to the theater.
Standing in the Cold
When Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks join forces, good things happen (Saving Private Ryan, The Terminal, Catch Me If You Can).
Their latest collaboration, Bridge of Spies, is a Cold War thriller with a seemingly mundane premise: a trial. This trial involves spies and (as the brand new trailer below reveals) the legal and moral ramifications in this beautifully shot film rise to the highest-levels of mid-20th century drama. The soundtrack adds a pulsating element that aggressively grabs us and keeps our attention as much as Mr. Hanks’ magnetic presence.
Ladies and gentlemen, it appears that Mr. Spielberg has made yet another must-see movie.
The verdict will be given October 16, 2015.
Happy Monday!
Carly Rae Jepsen had an incredible challenge to follow up her 2012 summer smash hit, “Call Me Maybe.” After collaborating with Owl City for a good time, the pressure mounted for her next equally sensational single. Even though the following music video debuted a couple months ago, it can take a little time for a song to catch on.
And it has.
It’s the impossibly cute Carly Rae Jespen (I’ll call you, maybe?) and Hollywood’s Leading Man: Mr. Tom Hanks.
Nearly 42 million views so far…not bad.
Have a Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Good Week!
