Making an Early Impression
Kevin Spacey is a model citizen of the Darwinist theory of “survival of the fittest.” Actually, a more appropriate phrase for Mr. Spacey would be “survival of the funniest.” It’s perhaps common knowledge that people who are casual fans of the famed actor are aware of his skillful impressions. His most famous targets are Johnny Carson, Jack Lemmon and Christopher Walken. However, as the video below entertainingly illustrates, it was the impressions he performed off-stage that proved his best.
In so many ways, his old antics are what life is all about.
Who will you be this week?
RIP Robin Williams
Yesterday, the world stopped laughing.
Checking my Twitter feed last night around 7:30 p.m., The Hollywood Reporter headline read, “Breaking: Robin Williams dies of suspected suicide.” Learning this shocking news for the first time was a moment of pure disbelief. How? Why? Tragically, the only answer that could be given was that it happened. While his personal struggles were not a tightly-kept secret, it doesn’t make this situation any easier. From his elaborate stand-up to wild and hilarious improvising on late night television to his family-oriented classics to his more serious roles in an academic setting to his relentless creative energy, Robin Williams was an icon and a fan favorite of people from multiple generations.
He was one-of-a-kind.
His talent helped define stand-up comedy, improvisation and molded countless childhoods. The following video clip is certainly not enough to fully remember Robin Williams, but it’s a start.
Rest in Peace Robin Williams.
Happy Monday!
Sometimes, the best way to start a new workweek is to simply give it absolutely everything you’ve got. All the energy left over from the weekend should serve as jumper cables of sorts this Monday morning.
Charlie Day/Dale Arbus knows what I’m talking about.
Happy Monday!
Happy Monday!
After a fun weekend, it can be difficult to wake-up early this morning, get out of our comfortable bed and start a brand new week. Monday’s are not easy, which is why Jimmy’s Daily Planet makes a sincere effort to boost our energy to kick-off the work week every seven days.
What’s the motivation this Monday? I’m glad you asked.
For July 21, 2014 and the days that follow, it seems like we each need to dig deep within ourselves and find that definitive edge that will give us a fresh perspective for what lies ahead.
And if you can find something purple to sit on, all the better.
Happy Monday!
