The best actors don’t look or (as a matter of fact) act like they’re acting.
Case and point: The late Heath Ledger.
The Dark Knight is widely considered as the greatest cinematic adaptation of Batman. The film’s praise extends to any movie of any genre. Christian Bale certainly is the star lead of the trilogy, but the brightest star of the three films is arguably Heath Ledger. Mr. Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker will stand the test of time as one of the greatest acting performances.

And you thought the only difference between East Egg and West Egg was money.
You can say “Gatsby,” where the vocal range is aimed up with a splash of authority or “Gatsbee,” where the vocal range goes exactly straight out with no hints of, well, anything.
SNL-alum and impersonating savant Fred Armisen has a special skill that involves detecting the molecular, distinguishing accents from country-country and city-city and, quite possibly, from neighborhood street-neighborhood street in the same community. If you listen carefully during the video clip (and in everyday life), we all speak with a unique dialect.
However subtle, it’s there.
We should all burnish our current skills at acute vocal observations of the human condition, especially the next time you travel throughout Germany.

Summer, like a right angle, is just around the corner.
With the sun shining and birds singing, the time for planning that wondrous vacation has arrived. Let’s face it, there are three ways to travel: By air, by sea or by automobile.
Luckily, a lantern is no longer necessary for making this critically important decision.
In order to see the real Americana, everybody knows the experience of getting there is half the fun. Does this mean traveling Griswold-style in a wood panel station wagon? Yes. And it also means spotting a nice, tall building in your downtown, tipping it on its side, strapping some wheels on it and driving that across the country.
If you’re daring enough to accept this challenge, then Jeff Daniels has a few tips, which includes counting to three.
