The Bold, Fabled Glance

Steven Spielberg has done it again.

Roald Dahl wrote The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) in 1982 for generations of children to enjoy. Regardless of whether or not this was your favorite book growing up, it most likely ranked high on your list. And let’s not forget Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (made into a movie), Matilda (made into a movie), The Witches (made into a movie), James and the Giant Peach (made into a movie) and many more Roald Dahl literary classics that scream adventure and imaginative euphoria.

I present to you the first teaser trailer for The BFG released this morning.

Come next summer, we’ll get to be a kid again…a big kid.

Harmonizing a Kaleidoscopic Future

Coldplay’s future is…

“A Head Full of Dreams” was released today for the world to hear and experience. Unlike their previous album “Ghost Stories” (with the exception of one song), Chris Martin and Co. have returned with mostly upbeat, dancing tempos, imaginatively playful lyrics and a positive feeling of being happy no matter what life throws at us.

As Coldplay would say, it’s about finding and hanging onto our everglow.

Now, Chris Martin said that this album could be the band’s last musical journey during an interview several months ago.

Like the highly-lauded and extensive Harry Potter series, is this the end for Coldplay?

Well, the last song on the record is called, “Up&Up.”

Sounds Like Animal’s Spirit

Dave Grohl.

Now that I have your undivided attention…

America’s rock ‘n roll ambassador (Dave Grohl) made a special appearance on the latest episode of The Muppets on ABC. After traveling for much of the day and enduring cancellations and weather delays at the airport, seeing the following the drum-off was a great way to end this memorable Wednesday.

Four sticks, three back-and-forths, two drum sets and one unforgettable performance for kids (and adults) made for a special television event.

This drum-off does beg the question posed by Jason Segel in The Muppets movie:

Man or muppet?

The Intersection of Comedy & Drama

Christopher Nolan is now a verb.

The director of gritty, epic dramas that are grounded in realism and groundbreaking science-fiction, yet elevated with labyrinths of mind-bending plot twists, has carved out a space of his own in the cinematic world. His style is definitive. Nolan’s innovative take on movies (honoring the past while reaching for new dimensions) has resulted in a strong following (pardon the pun).

Nolan’s latest film, Interstellar, was an operatic space epic that took adventures into the stars to another level because of its gravity in scientific theory. Along with the brilliant soundtrack by composing collaborator Hans Zimmer, Interstellar will inspire future filmmakers, composers, actors and storytellers.

And this, surprisingly, includes fans of comedy.

We’ll never look at Mel Brooks and his movie Spaceballs the same way again…

I love it.
