New Flight Mission: Possible

Yes, yes and YES.

A to-be-named ‘Top Gun’ sequel is officially happening. And, more importantly, this sequel is currently filming with stars of the original classic movie in Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer.

Just let that sink in for a moment because, for many of us, that 1986 action thrill-ride set in motion our perspective of Naval fighter pilots.

It’s just awesome that a sequel has been set in motion…

into the ‘danger zone.’

Happy Monday!

The hype for Mission: Impossible – Fallout is building with great reviews being released left and right. As is the sequel to another beloved Tom Cruise favorite…

Tom Cruise and his Mission: Impossible team appears to be breaking all the ankles rules for how good a sequel to an action film can be.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout premieres in theaters on July 27.

Tip of the Hat to Imagination

One of the best parts about being an uncle is rewatching my favorite movies from when I was a kid. It involves putting in a DVD I own or one from the local library. The entire experience is nostalgic bliss.

Speaking of which, I just finished watching the 1971 classic film ‘Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory’ with my niece and mom. Three generations of movie-watchers who differ in cinematic preferences yet this trip down memory lane will always remain one of the all-time greatest films to all who watch it.

Case in point…

That’s what Tuesdays are all about can be all about.

P.S. The world still misses the kind spirit and pure imagination of Gene Wilder.

It Was 1980-Something

“Flashback Friday” is supposed to evoke a fond memory from our past, typically during our formative years. If a Guns N’ Roses music video from 1987–in front of and behind the camera footage–doesn’t qualify, then I don’t know what does.

Sweet memory of mine indeed, both musically and the time period that’s long gone. The era, the unrestrained rock n’ roll lifestyle on-and-off the stage, the city and the musicians all lined up for Guns N’ Roses for several years for something that was uniquely epic before, well, you know.

But now it’s better again. It’s a flashback that came full circle for a flash forward.

Happy Flashback Friday.
